Alla Voronkova, singer-songwriter, was born in Ukraine, in the Kharkiv region, in the village of Liptsy. She lived there with her family and worked as a nurse until 24 February 2022, when Russia launched a brutal war of aggression against Ukraine. After various stages, she found a new home in Finland.
In the Upper Town Night concert, Alla Voronkova takes her audience to her home village, where the Kharkova and Lypets rivers meet and spring rain rustles the green linden trees. She takes you to the hill to marvel at how the wind drives the waves across the fields and the nightingales find the cherry tree. She will take you to walk with her through Ukraine’s endless fields of sunflowers and listen to the flowing river singing of longing and love.
